Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) connectivity with the National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) aims to create awareness among students and educators about the importance of IPR. Through collaboration with NIPAM, students are educated on the basics of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and the benefits of protecting innovations. EDC Certificate Course on a credit basis was sponsored by UGC in 2007 for 5 years. We accord permission to Self-help group members to promote their own products in our college from 2006 onwards.

SIC - Minutes of the Meeting
The Student Incubation Centre has been operational since 2019, aiming to enhance entrepreneurial skills among both students and faculty. FORMATION OF STUDENT INCUBATION CENTRE
The STUDENT INCUBATION CENTRE (SIC) was established on 15.07.2019 to expose the students to identifying the target market and create viable products. The Management of the College Governing Council, Cauvery College for Women, supported with seed fund to motivate and train the students to work in a business setup.
In addition, the institution also provides furnished office pace, technological and maintenance support for the students entrepreneurial welfare. Under the guidance of diligent and experienced faculty, learn the dynamic process of business development and how to survive in their early entrepreneurial stage. The student proposals from in-campus and alumnae’s are invited and reviewed by the mentors, approved by the Principal and the Management.

Student Campus Companies with a seed capital given by the management to companies-SIC Stores, SIC Bakes, Noodhana Gallery, Natra Cool Napkins, SIC Designers, Marcquillage Service and Golden Tailors. The companies offer 16 skill-based programs benefiting 886 individuals and six certificate courses engaging 278 participants. 67 interns were benefited with stipend and certificate annually. Student Incubation centre was remodelled as Student Campus Companies from March 2023 onwards.
Technology Transfer Cell
The Technology Transfer Cell (TTO) drives the transformation of prototypes into startups, guiding them from Technology Readiness Level 0 to 9 through robust R&D initiatives based on Indian Knowledge System. Regular ideation contests and hackathons, held twice monthly, unearth novel ideas for evaluation by committee members. Angel Investor meets facilitate crucial networking opportunities. Workshops enrich students' knowledge in IoT, coding, and design concepts, offering certificate courses and internships.
Patent Utility Centre
The Patent Utility Centre processes startup ideas for Patent, Design, Copyright, and Trademark via KAPILA, facilitated by the committee. Ideas evaluated by TTO and the IPR Cell are promoted for patent drafting. Approved ideas are regularly processed into Invention Disclosure vouchers for IPR procedures through one-to-one interaction with Patent agents.
Registration in KAPILA helps promote awareness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students and faculty. This initiative provides valuable insights into the importance of protecting intellectual property, encouraging innovation within the academic community. Through workshops, seminars, and resources, participants gain a deeper understanding of IPR processes and benefits. It empowers them to safeguard their inventions, creative works, and research findings. The program also fosters a culture of respect for intellectual property. Ultimately, KAPILA aims to create a knowledgeable community well-versed in IPR practices.
Campus Circle
Our Institution has registered under Campus Circle in Startup TN for promotion of Innovation Entrepreneurship and Startup ecosystem among students and Faculties. This initiative is done by framing a committee with three expert members from incubation, industries and Government sector along with one dedicated faculty and 25 students team.
TNI MM
Our Student Incubation Centre, prior to remodeling, was registered in the Tamil Nadu Innovation Maturity Model in 2023 and applied for the Scale-Up Grant. Following this initiative, the Student Incubation Centre has been remodeled as Student Campus Companies from March 2024 onwards. Additionally, the establishment of the Shine Business Incubation Centre has been registered in Startup TN Catalyst as a pre-incubation Centre. Furthermore, our incubation centre is exploring funding opportunities through NITI Aayog.

eMart Cauvery SHINE connects women entrepreneurs to the global marketplace through the Digital Pilot Infrastructure initiative led by the Department of Commerce & Industries. This integration utilizes the ONDC platform to provide broader market access for their products. The initiative aims to empower women entrepreneurs by offering digital infrastructure and support for scaling their businesses. By leveraging the ONDC platform, women-led enterprises can reach customers worldwide, enhancing visibility and growth. The project focuses on creating a seamless, digital marketplace experience. Ultimately, it promotes women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship on a global scale.
About Shine
Shine Business Incubation Centre is registered in Startup TN Catalyst, Academic partner and Campus Circle, Government of Tamil Nadu. We have collaborations with Institutions and Industries like NIT -Trichy, CSIR-IMMT, MIT Square, Anna Business Incubation Research forum, Periyar Incubation and Menmozhli Technologies etc. It offers courses from Wadhwani Foundation, I & E paper and Startup Acceleration credit courses have been incorporated in the curriculum. Centre of Excellence
The Centre of Excellence in Innovation and Robotics, established through international collaboration, empowers women by promoting technical startups. It conducts workshops, internships, conferences, and business model canvas practices in IoT, AI, and Robotics within an IoT-equipped lab. Internships, UG and PG Project ideas of our students were initiated to get completed their experimental, result progress through mentoring support from industrial experts via Incubation.
I & E Courses
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) course aims to enhance the innovative ecosystem within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This course encourages students to think creatively and develop entrepreneurial mindsets. It provides the knowledge and skills needed to identify opportunities, create solutions, and establish successful ventures. By integrating hands-on projects and real-world problem-solving, students gain practical experience in innovation. The curriculum also emphasizes critical thinking, leadership, and adaptability, which are essential in today's dynamic business environment. Guest lectures, workshops, and industry interactions further enrich the learning process. The course plays a pivotal role in building a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within HEIs.
